Reading 9 SVX Meet

Morgantown, PA, April 18-20, 2008

This year's annual "Reading Meet" is being hailed as the "Best Reading EVER!"  We counted a total of 47 SVX's at one time or another throughout the weekend.  Unfortunately, not all were there at the same time!

A total of 75 people signed in, although there may have been more.  We saw a lot of old friends and made some new ones, and the weather couldn't have been better.

The First-Time-Ever SVX Raffle was won by one of our members, SVXBart.  It is a twin to the 1992 Claret 5-speed he already has!  Congratulations to you, Bart; now you have TWO to bring to next year's meet!

Svxfiles (affectionately known as "Old Tom") adjusted a record number of TPS's and the raffle went off without a hitch.  As fate would have it, the Subaru poncho was won by TomsSVX ("Young Tom") after doing his best to humiliate one of our members for wearing one.  We were able to raise $1,300.00 for the Network, all of which goes to help defray the cost of the server and other expenses.

The rally was great fun, and the winner was a newcomer to our little "family", Fancycargal (Nancy) and ensteele (Earl). The Holiday Inn , as usual, was extremely accommodating and understanding.  We have already started making reservations for next year's "Tenth Anniversary Reading Meet."
