Engine and Other Diagnostics
The Subaru Select Monitor is just the beginning.....
The Subaru Select Monitor is an electronic diagnostic tool which has been
used by Subaru Technicians for years to determine the "health" of the engine and
transmission. But unless you know what to DO with the information obtained
from the monitor, it does you very little good. Add to this data years of
experience with Subarus and several years of owning multiple SVX's, and we have
the knowledge and expertise needed to find and correct almost any problem we
encounter.
Here are just a few of the items we look at with the Select Monitor:
- TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) voltage
- Sensors (crank angle, cam angle, knock, Oxygen)
- Engine Temperature and Coolant Temperature
- Timing Advance / Retard
- Transmission Temperature
But the select monitor has its limitations; it can only diagnose electrical
problems. Diagnosing mechanical problems requires keen eyes and ears as
well as experience. We take your car for a test drive and listen to that
"strange sound" coming from "the back somewhere" and then put it up on the lift
to see if it's a wheel bearing, axle or just a heat shield rattle.
We'll make sure that problem, whatever it is, goes away.
